STATEMENT:
My work relies on metaphors to convey a sense of spirituality that is encompassed by situational experiences. I navigate an understanding of my spiritual self through an observance of daily thoughts and surroundings. Reflecting on humanity and my place in an entity larger than myself continually inspires me. Symbols seem to seek me out to communicate ideas that transcend the everyday situations they are found in. Light filling a space attracts me because of divine associations. Commonplace objects can elevate themselves in my mind as representations of spiritual ideas. When I paint I intensely observe and perceive light and color. I am simultaneously inspired by how these observations allow me to uncover the beauty and power of seeing beyond everyday experience.
